Mini Measurement Olympics

As part of our start to our MEASUREMENT learning in maths this week, Room 16, 21 and 22 are holding a mini measurement Olympic Games.

We are using our knowledge of measurement: distance, mass and capacity when competing.

On Monday we held an opening ceremony, complete with our Olympic torch bearer, Mr Du Plooy.  We stated our Olympic oath, and listened to our Olympic song, 'We are the Champions.'

Let the Games Begin!

In teams of 3 or 4 we are competing.  We are showing what we have learnt about SPORTSMANSHIP throughout the games.
Each athlete has 3 attempts and with their team measures either the distance, mass or capacity of their try depending on the event.  Teams are also challenged to find the average of their groups measurements.

Here are the events:

We can't wait for the Olympic Award Ceremony on Thursday!
